Gender Apostates Weekly Round-up 4 July 2015

It’s time for another exciting installment of the weekly-round up.

We at the Gender Apostates collaborative want to thank you for reading, sharing, and commenting on our essays.  We’re thrilled to see conversation, discussion, and debate arise around on about our writing. So often the topics we choose to discuss are those too many willfully ignore. Having these conversations is incredibly important to us, so thank you.

In case you missed them, or just want to read them again, here is a look back at the week that was:

Jaqueline ended our first week with a powerful essay about gender abolition, liberation, and what that means for a trans woman of color.  On Tuesday, in an essay which originally appeared in the Morning Star Newspaper, Miranda illustrated just how transgender activism is shaping and dictating feminist discourse.

On Wednesday, Diana challenged the leaders of the transgender community to set aside their narcissistic vanity and use their fame and fortune to help those most in need.  Thursday, it was Aoife’s turn to list the feminist writings that have influenced her. If you haven’t checked out this weekly feature, you definitely should.

Sass concluded the week with a brilliant guide to transwomen and feminism.  It is the perfect primer for understanding the sometimes impenetrable politics surrounding gender identity.

Thank you again for reading.  We will return Monday, with all new essays, as Sass takes on Hypocrisy.  You won’t want to miss it!
